The Countdown is On...

ACE Nationals Baby! So much hard work has gone into these last few weeks, and when you get up to Toronto, I certainly hope, you all take a chance to relax, kick back, and have a little fun.... while impressing the hell out of all those judges mind you!

Keep up the great work! Saw the video of you folks practicing (and you do realize I am SO jealous at this moment!) - the script is great, the projects are great, and you all LOOK great up there!

I was trying to remember some of the things we ran into last year (like with the green sheets - did Mike ever give those back?)... anywho, lemmie see...

• Handouts, when delivered, do so with a smile, and a firm handshake!
• Speak slowly (cough - my biggest problem last year - cough)
• When you are speaking, think about what you are saying, rather than just repeating what you memorized - Colin is an EXCELLENT example of this!
• When you are not speaking, fight the urge to chat to one another, rather... look at the person who is talking as if you are paying attention
• I have a feeling the judges may ask you about the "Weale Deal" - don't let that question ramble on, have a quick answer for it (if they do ask) and move on to actual important ones
• When answering question, take time to reflect on what the judges have said, listen, nod... if you don't get it, repeat it (or ask them to) - then thoughtfully answer. You know the answer - and they obviously don't, so you BY FAR have the heads up!
• Timing is key, Christina I trust you have everyone running on a tight ship! The signals worked great last year
• HAVE FUN! The judges can tell if you hate what you are doing - remember how much fun we had in the semi-final round presenting? It was because we really were having a good time (and the pressure was limited) - the judges loved us! And, we managed to NAIL our questions! *siiiiiiiiigh, remembering.....* SMILE! It looks good, and makes your fine selves, all that more attractive!
